Good Shepherd Newsletter Spring 2009
Fri Jun 05, 2009

I hope everyone is enjoying their spring to date and can take a moment to think about ice hockey as we update you on Good Shepherd Hockey Club (GSHC) events.
On April 16th we had our Annual General Meeting. Thank you to those that came out and showed your support and participated in our election process and having a say in your child’s hockey experience. Congratulations to our new Parish Manager Todd Holden and the rest of the executive who have stepped up to guide our club through the upcoming hockey year. We did not field candidates for the Communication Director or Initiation Director positions; if you are interested please contact any of the executive for details. These are important positions to our success as a club and need to be filled.
I would like to take a moment and thank all of our volunteers who have stepped forward and contributed to another successful Good Shepherd hockey year. Your involvement contributes directly to the quality of the hockey experience your child enjoys.
To the Executive members who have charted and piloted this past hockey year to its proper destination and made it enjoyable for all involved, a big ‘well done and thank you’!
This year was busy with registration dates, coaches meeting, managers meetings, Initiation Fun Skates, MHW meetings, MHW volunteer obligations, team pictures to organize, ice to schedule and secure, Oiler 50/50 commitments, silent auction event, parent appreciation night, Galaxyland year end party, Casino and every month a bingo; all that came together and pulled off directly from each one of you and your involvement and commitment. THANK YOU, for all of that directly enhances and contributes my child’s enjoyment and quality of hockey.
Our most exciting news is that we will be a part of the Timbits Hockey program for our Initiation (4-6) players in the 2009/10 season. Please pass along to all the perspective hockey moms and dads as this has been a long awaited program for KC Hockey. As some of you may or may not now the Initiation program is the corner stone of our success and the numbers we have there reflect the future of our club. This said it is important to constantly grow and nurture this component of our registration process.
